pro·cras·ti·nate
Used without object....ironic huh! There is always something else to do. Or somewhere else that I can send my mind rather than tackle the jobs that need to be done. And so I procrastinate.
I have been a world class procrastinator since I was little. At least that was what my dad said. I am probably accurate in saying that this was one of the first multi-syllabic words I learned. I could spell it by the time I was 5. I was probably supposed to be doing something else, like learning the words to God Save the Queen, or sums, or handwriting, but I was learning about procrastinating.
I know what you are thinking. How irresponsible! How lazy, how can she get away with this. And maybe even, how can I get away with this. Well, there's a secret to it. You have to realize that procrastinating is only putting off something until later. At some point, it becomes later and you have to get on with things. However, there is something to be said about giving your busy mind a break. And that my friend, is what it's all about. Just a break. A mental cup of tea. A moment of me time.
